I've been inserting videos using my HD1080p Logitech webcam and have never had a problem before. Today, all attempts at making videos resulted in playback where there is a lag between the video'd speech and the sound. It got worse and worse as we tried to re-record. Help! Any ideas?

Yikes, sorry that happened to you, Laura! I can try and help you figure this out.
First, what version of Storyline are you using? Also, is the project saved to your local hard drive?
