I have recently been looking into some functionality offered by Engage - specifically the FAQ and Glossary, and Quizmaker - it appears to have more robust options than are found in StoryLine.
Can content created within Engage/Quizmaker be leveraged in StoryLine, or are these specifically used as stand-alones or with Presenter?
A lot of what I'm liking from Engage and Quizmaker, I'm sure I could create within Storyline, it just seems there would be some real time savings by using these other applications.
To import an Engage interaction (or a presentation that includes an Engage interaction) into Storyline, you must have Engage installed on your computer and activated with a valid serial number:
Also, it's important to understand that Engage interactions are treated as web objects in Storyline. As a result, you may want to disable the resume feature in your interaction. Otherwise, users will encounter a separate resume prompt when revisiting the Engage slide in your Storyline course:
Be aware that Engage interactions in Storyline work as expected in the default Flash content, but they're not supported in HTML5 or the Articulate Mobile Player app for iPad. For a full comparison of Storyline's Flash, HTML5, and Articulate Mobile Player output, click here:
Thanks for the very thorough and quick response Peter!
One follow up question, please forgive me if the answer is in one of your posted links.
If Engage reactions are imported as web objects into StoryLine, does that mean features like FAQ and Glossary cannot be placed in the player as Tabs, but would exist as slides in the project?
Just a few notes after using Engage and importing to my SL project.
1. Is there anyway to set the size of an Engage interaction?
My SL project has a custom 16:9 size, and when imported my Engage interaction stretches to these dimensions. I didn't like the result, so I re-sized the interaction to a 4:3 size. However this leaves an imported interaction with a great deal of "border" space when used as a lightbox.
*partially solved by creating custom lightbox / buttons to mimic the functionality I was looking for from the Player. However, it would be great if I could create Engage (and I'm assuming Quizmakeer) interactions in the same dimensions as my SL project.
2. Is there a way to import custom colour themes from SL to Studio products?

Hi A,
Yep, Storyline plays nice with both Quizmaker and Engage - though a little nicer with Quizmaker.

Hi A,
I'd encourage you to submit feature requests for both of those options.
