I have published my Articulate Storyline modules to CD. Everything works great except when I click to open a PDF attachment. An Internet Web browser will open with the following pop-up :
Then, this one appears :
When I click Close program, the PDF opens in the Web browser...
What is the reason for these messages? Why do they appear before opening up the PDF and how do I get rid of them?
Hi Ghislaine! I was following up on your case and see where you are working with John and he advised to not work off of a network drive and offered the following suggestion when you asked about viewing from a CD/locally:
1) Have the users copy the entire published folder to their desktop and have them launch the menu.exe file from the desktop.
2) Make a web version of your course. You can make a web version and have the users access an HTML file from a web server instead so that the users will not encounter the issues with accessing the files from a network drive.
I just wanted to share this with the community in case someone comes across this thread.
After a few tests, we found that, by checking two Advanced Security Internet Options (see first two), we no longer had the "Internet Explorer has stopped working" messages and that all PDF files also open in Acrobat!
Option 1 : Allow active content from CDs to run on My Computer*
Option 2 : Allow active content to run in files on My Computer*
Everything works fine now - we are able to view all content from CD without having to save on desktop, etc.

NB : This problem does not occur when viewing the modules locally.
Hi Ghislaine! Would you be able to share your .story file with our support team so that they can have a closer look at what may be going on?
Hi Leslie!
I have submitted a support case with the files. Thanks so much!
