iPad mobile player: action triggered when switching back online?

I would like to get some tracking with the mobile App for courses deployed in moodle.

I understand that getting the usual report in moodle is not an option without the Tin Can support. Yet I need only very basic reporting, for example knowing that the user got to the last slide could be enough.

I read this thread about Jamie's modified SCORM player, I haven't tested it yet but it looks like a good lead.

The final issue I'm still worrying about is that we want to let user download the content . I would like to find a way to get the tracking done even when the user reads the course offline. Is there an option to schedule a particular action when the iPad gets back online? For example sending an email or posting data to a web form? We could then have the data parsed and saved in the moodle database in the form of a SCORM reporting.
