Is it possible for a user to be able to zoom into an image when they hover over it?

Aug 09, 2023

Hello.
I'm creating a demo for a course. On one of my slides, I'd like to include 3 x screengrabs of earlier slides in my course.

However, this means that the images are quite small and a bit tricky for the user to really see them in detail.

Rather than lightboxing them, is there a way of the user being able to hover over each of these screengrabs and for them to be enlarged slightly? Some sort of zooming in effect?

I maybe asking the impossible here!!
Thanks
Margaret

You could paste the larger image within the Hover state. That would show it without the need for triggers.

Another option: use a trigger to show a layer with the enlarged image when the user hovers over the small screengrab.

Either option would work. But either option might be tricky for the user if the enlarged image covers the other screengrabs. So it might be better to show the enlarged images on layers that are opened by clicking the screengrabs. Then provide a button to close the layer.

There is the Zoom Picture function.

That'll work if you insert a large image, and reduce it in Storyline. Then, when the user clicks the zoom icon, the image will enlarge to its full size or to fill the player (which is smaller). But it doesn't do anything if the image is imported at its original size.
