Is there a way to pin a photographic character for quick access? Re-sort the poses? Search?

Nov 30, 2014

I create lessons using a standard photographic character, Rosie. Every time I add a new slide, I am going to want her on there with a different expression. I find it timeconsuming and hard on my shoulder to keep having to move my mouse up to the top of the screen, clikc charcter, slide down to photographic character, then see ALL my characters, then scroll down to Rosie, then click on her, and FINALLY be able to view her different poses. Are there ways to:

(1) "Pin" a specific character to the side of your working slides so you can easily go right to all her different poses?

(2) Re-sort the poses so that the ones I am most likely to use are at the top and the least likely ones are at the bottom?

(3) Be able to search on that page and just pull up the ones with the word "waiting" (or whatever) in it?

There's no way around this using the standard method, but what you can do is create a new project, insert Rosie in a variety of poses, maybe naming each slide after a pose or you might have several pointing ones, and then several angry ones, and name those slides. Save as a template called Rosie. Close. Next time you are in a project and want that charater, just insert slide, templates, and pick Rosie, then pick the right slide you want  (or put all of them in a new scene and select characters as needed). Copy and paste. It's a lot of work up front, but just another option.

I know this is an old issue but it's a really good idea to be able to sort by style of pose or emotion rather than having to scroll through every character looking for what you want. Are there any plans on the horizon to make the people searching more specific? (Have you seen how ElearningBrothers.com does their cut out people search? You can sort by age, race, gender, style of clothing, emotion and its awesome!!!)

Thanks Ashley, that's definitely a cool idea and I can see how with Content Library in Articulate 360 - even more characters, poses and expressions - pinning the ones you use regularly would be a cool feature.

I'm going to share it with my team - thanks for the feedback!  If you have other ideas, always fee free to post in a discussion or share your thoughts with us through a feature request.

Curious how we manage all of the ideas we receive? That article will walk you through our process.
