Is there a way to time limit the use of articulate files on a third party LMS

Dec 12, 2016

We have some third parties who would like to use our articulate storyline content on their own LMS. We would like them to have an annual licence so that we can be sure that the courses are always up-to-date. Is there a way of making a course not work after a certain date?

Hi Miranda,

If I was going to do this, I would use Javascript to grab the system date and time and compare the system date and time with a predetermined expiration date. Add an extra slide that contains your custom message about the licence expiring, and the course needs to be updated.

Then when the course is started, use a trigger to jump to your custom slide when the system date has exceeded your predetermined date. Place the slide in a different scene from the rest of the content, and don't allow the course to continue from there.

If the date has not been exceeded, then proceed through the course normally.
