Issue with a trigger

A few months ago, I created a project with a countdown timer, using a silent audio clip as a trigger to make a variable count down. It works great. I posted about it on my blog and have several people use the idea in their projects. This morning someone contacted me regarding an issue they are facing and it has me stumped. The countdown timer works great the first time, however when they and myself try it again it sometimes does not work. It may work the second time, it may not. I was able to retry the activity 7 times with it working correctly, but the on the 8th try it did not work. It seems as though the trigger is pausing. Any thoughts.

Best if you could share your .story file via Add Attachment in the post editor so the community members could help you troubleshoot
And have you considered javascript to set the variable? The Knowledgebase section on Javascript has some relevant code snippets

Here's that KB article that I suspect Brian was referring to. Javascript isn't something I can assist with, so I'll defer to the community here.
