Issues publishing a storyline project to video

Jun 25, 2018

Hi, I have read many support documents but can't work out what I am doing wrong. I have created a four minute project which includes text to speech. Every time I try to publish it to video it is publish as a .story file. If anyone can help I would be extremely grateful. I needed to use it with my students today

Hi Maree! That's so strange--let's see if we can figure this one out together.

First, are you using Storyline 360? I wanted to double check, since that's the only version that has a publish to video feature.

Next, be sure you're following these steps:

  1. Go to the Home tab on the Storyline ribbon and click Publish.
  2. When the Publish window appears, select the Video tab on the left side of the window.

  3. Adjust the settings, if needed.
  4. Click Publish.

Let me know if that helps, or if we need to keep digging!

Hi, Alyssa.

I also have issues publishing a storyline project to video. The project is composed by a screen recording about a software process. I have 43 slides with a 5:20 minutes long project; it weighs about 48 MB.

I have updated both, Articulate and Storyline, and followed the steps you detailed in this post but the project is in process of publishing for more than 4 hours and it doesn't finish.

About a month ago, I made some projects doing exactly the same than now and had no trouble publishing to video.

I need help to solve this situation because have to record and publish lot of projects like this as part of a training for new software usage in my Company.

Thank you!

Hi there, Lindsey and Anuradha!

I appreciate you both for bringing this to our attention, and I'm so sorry for the long publish time.

The cause of this lag has been a tough one for us to identify. Would you both be willing to work with our Support Engineers individually so we can pull a few system logs to help us determine the root of what may be happening?
