Issues with Resume feature

Jul 08, 2014

HI All! A colleague of mine is having a very strange issue with the Resume feature in a course she is building. She's getting the "resume" box when she re-enters a course but it's blank and at that point you can't do anything within the course (menu is visible but you can't click on a anything, Exit Course button doesn't work, etc). Any help on what's happening or how to fix is greatly appreciated!

Hi there Erin,

How is your colleague viewing the course? Is this happening during preview, after publishing, etc.?

If it's happening after publishing and they're viewing the published files locally, this may be the problem. If you view a published Storyline presentation on your local hard drive or send it to someone else to view on their local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions from the computer, web browser, Flash Player, and network that'll cause various features of your content to fail.

To properly test your published content and share it with others, upload it to the environment for which it was published. Please review the article below for more information:

Publishing and Sharing Articulate Storyline Content

  • I suggest using SCORM Cloud for your course - it's a great place to test SCORM content.
  • Another option would be to use our Tempshare server. Just keep in mind that this server is only available for testing content - it is not officially supported by Articulate and all content will be removed automatically after 10 days.
  • You're always welcome to try out Articulate Online, as well - it's available for a free 30 day trial.

Please let us know if this helps, or if your colleague still has trouble with this.

Thanks!

Hi Christine!

Thanks so much for your reply! She had published it to a SharePoint page. She was able to fix the problem luckily but it was a strange issue. Somehow when in the Player button and under Current Player, she had something odd selected and she doesn't know how that happened. Once she selected "Storyline Player (in project)" everything worked correctly! Such an odd issue that no one here had come across before!

Thanks again!
