Issues with reviewing ONLY survey results

Sep 09, 2018

Hi everyone,

I can't find if this is posted somewhere else, so here goes.  I'm having some troubles with getting the 'Survey Results Slide' to display ONLY the survey results, which is the only box that I have selected (see picture for details). For whatever reason it displays the results of the other 30 some odd questions as well, which is highly inefficient, and probably a deal breaker for my client, which pretty much makes it a deal breaker for me.  Can anyone help with this?

That, I can do.  Great idea.

So, 1 and 2 are the same story, it just took two screenshots to get it all in there.  What we're trying to do is create an on-boarding system for clients into a potential e-learning scenario.  Everyone who gets to here gets into the program at either the L1 or the L2 level.  My client needs a quick evaluation to be able to sort potential clients of theirs into either that L1 or L2.  Everything is great, and the project works well except for two issues, and I'm not sure if they're related or not.

1)  The first issue is that I wanted to include a brief survey as part of the evaluation to gauge the clients' enthusiasm towards the particular course.  When I triggered the button 'Review Results', then selected the survey question bank, to my surprise, it gave me all three banks.  Which brings us to the second issue.

2)  So, I decided that viewing all of the slides wasn't necessarily a bad thing.  Should the administrators who work for my client want information at that level of detail, the Storyline could provide with minimal effort.  I then just triggered a second button to reset the evaluation so that the client could simply hand an ipad to the next person in line, all over the counter.  The issue here is that, for whatever reason, when review the evaluation, the hotspot locations that my client's clients would have selected were moveable, and that moving them was actually re-triggering the hotspot form to submit with the moved cursor.

So, that's where I'm at.  Looks great otherwise, save those two little bugs.  Either the client needs to only view the results of the survey, or, the hotspots need to be disabled as the client moves through the review, if reviewing the whole evaluation ends up being how this works out.  Let me know if you need more screenshots, I'd be happy to provide.

Hey Ryan,

Hmm, that's awfully strange. I'm still puzzled as to why the "Review Results" button would take you back through all three banks, and not just one bank.

Also, you mentioned that hotspot locations were moveable. By that, do you mean that the second person to take the course can see the selection from the first person and then move that selection?

I know you mentioned you cannot share your file publicly, but I'd love to have our Support Engineers take a closer look at it, if you don't mind sharing it privately here. Our team keeps all files confidential, and they can even sign a NDA, if that makes things easier.

Hi Alyssa,

I'll post it to that link later today for you guys, for sure (computer not
handy atm). I don't think I need an NDA as long as there is some general
policy about the intention of that link, but it's actually really cool that
you guys do that. As a trainer, I was wondering if I could have access to
this thread afterwards to show people how supportive this community is?

So, the hotspots issue is that, during the review, the hotspots can be
altered by the reviewer, and that the alteration does modify the score at
the end of the review. So, locking down the hotspots during that review
would simply prevent accidents from happening. The intended objective is
that all clients would go through both the L1 and L2 of the program, it's
just a question of where they start. If an alteration accidently forced a
client to L1, then my client would have to pay about double to run their
client through both classes. It would be rare, but right now, it's only
proceedure that's preventing that accident, so I just want to keep it air
tight.

Thanks for help with this, Alyssa. I'll get the story to you and your team
by tmrw.

Sure thing, Ryan! You can bookmark this link and refer to it anytime you need: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/issues-with-reviewing-only-survey-results

Now, let's talk more about this moving hotspot problem. You mentioned it happens on iPads. Can you also move the hotspot during quiz review from a desktop computer?

Also, does your results slide have this trigger?

Review results [results slide] when the user clicks the Review Quiz button.
