No Mac versions?

May 23, 2017

Just signed up for the trial and all I see are windows downloads. We looked at Articulate a couple of years ago and didn't sign up as it was windows only. I saw all the great stuff about Rise and love it...but we are 100% mac in everything we do so windows is a real deal breaker. Such a terrible shame. Am I missing something or is that how it goes?

Hey Guy. Fellow Mac user here.

Unfortunately that is the way it goes and probably no change in the future (I'm not speaking for Articulate but I'm fairly certain about that). For a long time I had a PC that I had for one purpose, running Storyline. I finally made the leap to Parallels and it has made life so much easier. You can edit your images, videos, and audio files in your Adobe suite and jump over to Storyline and import those files quick and easy. Parallels sees your Mac files like they are in the Windows directory. That was the biggest pain--moving files back and forth between the Mac and PC. Parallels fixes this. And you don't have to reboot to work between them.

Would I rather have a dedicated Mac version of Storyline? Absolutely. But this actually works quite well. I've had zero problems working like this.

Hi there Guy,

Really appreciate you adding your voice on this topic--it's a popular one here in ELH, and we hear each and every request. Michael mentioned he's had success with Parallels, so I wanted to share our recommendations on Using Articulate Software on a Mac with Parallels Desktop. I'm also a Mac user, and I've had lots of success with VMWare Fusion

I'm glad to hear you're giving Articulate 360 a test-drive and especially loving Rise--we love it too! Give us a shout if you run across any questions while you're taking it for a spin. 😊
