Items that can be dragged to anywhere on screen by the user

Sep 07, 2022

Hi, this might be an obvious question, but can I have objects on a storyline slide which the viewer can simply drag around to any position? So not quite a drag-and-drop, as there's no correct or incorrect answer, rather just something the viewer can arrange as they like, and then move on?

My aim is to create a venn diagram as the slide background, and then to have a bunch of words in either text boxes or buttons, and the user can drag them to whichever part of the venn diagram they want. There is no feedback, and no right or wrong answers, the aim is simply to get the user engaging with the topic.

This is for a course which I'm writing in Rise 360, but I want to make this as a storyline block to insert, as I can't see a way of doing this with the native features in Rise. I also had a look in Engage, and can't see anything appropriate there. Open to any suggestions, however!

Thanks for your help!

Update - I worked out how to do it - just insert a rectangle shape over the whole diagram, make it "invisible", set it as the drop target for a drag&drop question, make sure that answers don't "snap" to the edges and remove all feedback options. Is that what everyone else would have done? End result looks like this?
