Labeling things that go together

Apr 18, 2019

I'm creating a course that's animation-heavy and there are lots of little parts on a page - for ease of end user navigation I have three separate animations on the same slide. I've finished the first and between that and interactive navigation, I'm up to 27 separate layers... with many to go.

I name my layers similar things to group them (ReaderAllow, ReaderDeny, ReaderFaceplate, ReaderLeftSide for a card reader, HandThumb,HandBack,HandCard for a hand holding an ID card.) It would be nice if there was a way to color-code layers that go together like assigning categories in Outlook... I guess this is more a product suggestion than anything, but does anyone else have a good way of identifying items in layers that go together?

Hi, Andrea!

Color coding is a cool idea, and I can see how that would be beneficial when working with so many layers! I'll pass your feature request along to my team.

Another way to name layers for easy recognition is to use letters or numbers. For example:

A. ReaderAllow
A. ReaderDeny
A. ReaderFaceplate
A. ReaderLeftSide

B. HandThumb
B. HandBack
B. HandCard

The community may have other ideas, so I'm excited to see what they'll share with you!
