Layer doesn't show up after variable has been completed

Dec 05, 2019

I have a slide with 4 layers, three of which display content when clicking on a shape that has a visited state.

I would like the 4th "Next" layer that displays an arrow pointing to the next button to appear once all three shapes have been visited. I've created the variable and for some reason the Next layer only appears in preview when I hit the replay button, not after all three shapes in the variable have been visited.

This process has worked when the clicked shapes jump to a slide (instead of a layer) so I thought it would work again. But no luck! Help! I've attached a screenshot of my triggers.

Hi Blythe,

That's odd! From the image you shared, it seems the variable should not change until all the shapes are set to Visited, not just one.

If you're able to share your file publicly for us to take a look, feel free to do so by clicking Add Attachment, otherwise you can share it privately with me here, and I'll delete once I'm done taking a look!

Hi Blythe,

Thanks for sharing your file with me! I figured out what was causing the issue with the Next layer not to appear properly.

In each of your slide layer properties, you have the Hide other slide layers option checked, and it's causing the Next layer to appear quickly and disappear.

Since you have an "X" for the learner to hide each layer as they go through the slide, you can remove that option to Hide other slide layers for each layer, and no matter what sequence you choose, upon clicking the 3rd shape, the Next layer will appear as you expected. Hope this helps!
