Layers showing

Jul 17, 2015

Hi

Can anyone help I have created a Quiz in SL2 it has 3 questions and a results slide. The first question is ok but the other 2 not so.

The problem is the base layer is showing when the response layers (Try Again, Incorrect and Correct) are displayed. I have tried setting when revisited Resume Saved state and Reset to Initial state. Still not working I am at my wits end please help.

I have looked at similar questions on the forum and tried suggestions still no joy

I have attached my file

Thanks

I've tried everything I can think of with this and can't find a solution! I hope someone comes back with an answer because it has become one of those things I MUST know.

As a possible work around, you could put a white box under your main slide items to hide the base layer. You can usually hide them in the timeline in Storyline 2 but that has already been done and still no luck!

Hi Linda,

Thanks for sharing your file here and describing this odd behavior. I saw the same thing that you mentioned, and so I went through a few of the slide layers and turned on/off the "hidden" eye on the base layer timeline elements - and then re-preview it. That seemed to make them disappear...but when checking that the slide layer properties were set to "hide base layer objects" after that - it was unselected. Re checking it caused the problem to appear again.

Have you looked to confirm that you're working on project files as described here?

Sorry for late reply I have been off for 2 weeks just got back. Thanks for all replies. Ashley I am actually working on a network drive as I have to share the files with colleagues also working on SL. We are not allowed to save anything on the hard drive.

Not sure if this will make it difficult to solve the problem. Still happening

Hi Linda,

No apologies necessary - I hope you enjoyed the time off.

In regards to the file, working off a network drive can lead to elements of corruption, so unfortunately there may not be a way to solve the issue in that current file and could reappear within a new file. Are you able to talk with your IT department about saving files initially locally and then backing up to the network drive to share? Your colleague would than have to download and open on their local drive to work on the project file.
