Link between Projects

Oct 30, 2013

Hey there,

I'm currently working on a presentation where i need to link between 2 projects. I've tried this out with a direct link Tigger in Storyline and was unable to use it because it doesn't work with flash and on HTML5 the videos are spiking way too much.

After this I tired out linking via Java-Script. I used a very simple example I've found online:

window.location.href="../project_2/story.html"

The problem is that this doesn't work on any browser even if I deactivate all security properties.

Can somebody help me?

Hi Mario,

I can't assist in the area of Javascript coding, although there are a number of community members who may be able to help you.

In regards to the first piece that you mentioned, if you have published the Storyline project that you're linking to from the web, you should be able to include a link using the "Insert Hyperlink" function - although depending on how you've set up tracking, it may not track the linked project within the main project for things like quizzing. The other caveat, is the navigation - if you allow the user to open another course, how will they return to the original (if the link is set to open in the same window)?

In regards to the Flash vs. HTML5 - hyperlinks are supported in both as you'll see in this chart, although I'm not clear on the video piece that you're mentioning.

If you need communication between the slides in each project, they'll all need to be in one file, and then you may want to think about splitting them up into scenes.
