LMS error with Resume function
Sep 18, 2015
I created s short Storyline file that jumps user to website for a video. On one slide, six layers represent six different websites. Checkmark appears when site is visited. If user leaves LMS and re-enters, the Resume is prompted but does not display the checkmarks for previously viewed links/layers. I've since split into separate slides and is now functioning properly. But several of my co-workers thought that history would retain when built via layers?? I've attached the file - any thoughts would be appreciated.

A slide is only saved when you jump to another slide, if you are leaving and coming back this will not work
Thanks so much for that distinction - I'll spread the word!
Hi Sharon,
How were you enabling the checkmark, once visited?
I have had similar issues, I found using variables worked for me.
So when the user selects the link to go to the video, it then modifies a variable to enable checkmark. Then when a user returns to the module, if they select the option to "carry on where you last left off", it remembers the variable state and shows the checkmark.
Yes, variables work perfectly to save visited states:-)
Hi Sharon,
Phil's correct on that assessment - and in case it helps, I really liked the look of this example to help ensure folks saved before closing.
Best of luck with the rest of your project!
Thanks for jumping in everyone! Yes Ashley, I like the look, too, of the example you shared. I've not yet used Variables, but sounds like this is the perfect small project for me to give it a try.
Just be aware variable will also not save unless you jump slides
