LMS navigation help

Oct 29, 2012

I am brand new to all this LMS stuff so I'm learning as I go and since I don't have direct access to test stuff (have to go thorugh an LMS admin who doesn't use Storyline) it's a slow process. Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

I've brought a Power Point presentation (13 slides) in to Storyline, gone through and cleaned it up and then published it to be viewed on an LMS. (SCORM 1.2) But when it is viewed from the LMS, Iget to the last slide and can't go anywhere else. The next button is active but doesn't go anywhere (because there isn't another slide to view, so I removed the next slide trigger from the final slide).

Here is my real question, if I take the next button off the final slide, should the user just click an X to close out the player which hopefully sends a message to the LMS that the course is complete? I selected the option in Tracking (under Publish settings) to use the number of slides viewed, with the minium number the total number of slides, 13.

So, without being able to test it right away, does it sound like what I did should work on the LMS or are you going to say that LMS's are different and there is no way to tell without testing it?

Thanks!

Hi Anna

Storyline communicates course completion to an LMS (LMSCommit) when the user meets the completion requirement, either when they reach the appropriate result slide or when they have viewed the required number of slides, so theoretically, you should be good. But if you'd like a quick and easy free place to check it to be sure, you can try SCORM Cloud
