LMS not reporting completed status

Nov 07, 2014

I have two SL modules built in SL1.  There is no graded quiz but an acknowledgement quiz slide that links to a results slide at the end.  This is how the tracking is set up by that results slide.

I have uploaded into Scormcloud and run both modules.  They both report 100% but status remains at 'Incomplete'.

When I look at the debug log I can only see references to status at the beginning of the log nothing at the end of the log.  Could it be the way they exit the course...is there a setting I might be missing?

Any help will be appreciated

Hi Steve

I stripped it down from 55 slides to 3 slides and loaded into Scormcloud.  If I track by number of slides I get the 'COMPLETE' status, if I track by Result slide I get the 'INCOMPLETE' status.

I think I'll let the client try again on their LMS using number of slides...considering it is not a graded module and see what happens.

Thank you

Hi Ashley

thanks for that.  Interesting it is 55 slides long. When I run that through Scormcloud I get an incomplete when finished.  I did what Steve suggested and stripped down to 3 slides and it completes fine.

As it is not a graded quiz but an acknowledgement I am considering testing with less number of slides visited to see if that triggers the status correctly

Using the Completed/Incomplete status.

i will check out the article - thanks.

Update:

I have performed the following tests.

Loaded the full course into ScormCloud with a tracking option of 53 of 55 slides visited (already know that 55 of 55) doesn't work.  I get an INCOMPLETE status when finished.

Loaded the full course with a tracking option of 10 of 55 slides visited.  I completed 13 slides and then exited the course.  I get a COMPLETE status.

These are the activity statements from Scormcloud for both - notice the last line of code in each different.  The one that completes successfully (screenshot 1) has Content set completion to Completed.  The one that doesn't complete successfully (screenshot 2) has Content set exit type to suspend.

Could it be how the course is exited or is there a JS trigger I can add to the exit button in the course to make it complete successfully?

Any help is appreciated...thanks 'heroes'
