We have a project where there will be numerous videos in Storyline where the videos are all close to 5 minutes long. We won't be able to upload it to Youtube or Vimeo due to confidentiality and so it has to be imported into Storyline.
When testing, there is a very long load time for the videos.
Hi there Jay- here are my best practices for keeping video size manageable.
Spilt the 5 video up in into x5 - 1 minute different slides and create a trigger that autos user to Next slide when timeline ends. This has many other benefits for searching etc.
Render the videos at the exact size you'll use it in SL
Adjust your publishing settings to higher video compression (lower quality)
I know you can't do this one...Embed your video from URL or web object from a super fast web server like Vimeo or Youtube.
Looks like Ryan has some fabulous tips to share with you here and I wanted to be sure you were aware of the following as well:
Articulate Storyline preloads published content in a specific order to make playback of your courses as smooth as possible. See this article for details.

Thanks Ryan for the helpful tips. I might try the splitting the video option (I would've never thought of that). Thanks!
Jay
