Hi all, I'm facing this situation: I've a scene with all the content and Restricted navigation and another one with the quiz session. During the test runtime I'm able to go back to the previous slide via the left menu even if there isn't any previous button in the stage.
The course let the user have 3 overall attempts and the variables are ok.
The question is: how can I lock the quiz scene only in order to let the user have only one attempt per question?
Have you had the chance to check this link which describes how to restrict or lock navigation? You can also add triggers to supplement this functionality.
Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing with your project.
It looks like Juan has shared a great resource on how to restrict your navigation and I also wanted to share some information on limiting your question attempts.
If you still need some assistance, then with your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.
I really appreciate your fast help, glad to be part of the community as a newby.
Take a look at the attachment if you want, it's a demo of the simple functions I'm using. (correct answers: 1.2: answer "C"; 1.3: "A").
My problem is to lock the free navigation of the left menu throughout the slides during the quiz session: I want the user to have one experience per once session. He/she has 3 attempts of the overall quiz to reach the 80% of the score and during the single attempt I want to disable the navigation of the previous test slide to have a quiz in-a-row.
After any failed attempt, the retry button leads to the first slide resetting the score, since the third. It's useful to remind that this quiz scene is the following to another previous scene with the content slides in a branching link, so in the player menu config, I can't fix locked or restricted navigation restrictions (w next/previous btns locked/restricted) for a single scene, but it effects in all the LO.
And more: is there a way to communicate the LMS that the course becomes not accessible anymore after the third fail attempt?

thank you soo much!
Hello Luca!
Thanks for attaching the course! It looks great!
I tested the file here. I changed the player settings to locked so I couldn't return to previous slides.
As Leslie mentioned, you can also limit question attempts! Let me know if I'm off base.
