Login and Password

Is there a way in Storyline to develop a Login/Password sequence for
a class I'm running?  How do you do it?
Thanks

Hi Ted:

If so, you can create a login and password screen that only accepts specific entries.

Example:

Create a text entry question that will use the password text field as the trigger to move to the next slide.

Create a text input field for the users name and let the user enter whatever they want in it.

Set the password filed to accept only the one specific entry.

When the user clicks the submit button, it advances to the next slide that contains the Link to the webinar, or the instructions to attend the ILT.

Your LMS should record all this information.

I hope this helps.

Hi Marvin,

Welcome to the community. Perhaps someone can get to a video tutorial before I can, but in the meantime I thought you could perhaps take a look at this story and see if it would help.

I just now edited something I'd played with quite some time ago after looking at this thread..and thanks to Bill Harnage for his story there.

The attached story

  • allows Learners to enter their own user name
  • requires that Learners enter a password of 12345
  • provides a warning if they leave either the user name or the password blank
  • shows a warning layer if the password is incorrect and brings them back so they can try again

It may be a bit ambitious if you're just starting out! Be sure to shout out with any questions.

Dennis, I believe this is along the lines of what you were suggesting as well, although this story has Learners entering the user name AND password before moving to the next slide. Although, you do mention a submit button. Open to any clarifications.
