I worked on this course (stress management) earlier today. Closed and saved the program to work on something else and when I got back to it I no longer had any scenes or slides. Can someone tell me how I can get it back without redoing the whole project?
Thanks for your help but there are actually 7 scenes and 82 slides missing from this story. I am only getting what I did on the last day before it crashed. Everything I created for the last 2 weeks is now gone. Just don't create any quizzes, they destroy what was created prior to it.
That's a drag. I'd open a support case and send them the file. From the size of the file i'd say that all the slides are there but nothing is showing up for some reason. Maybe they can recompile it and get it back for you. Good luck.
Also, when creating, editing, and publishing Articulate Storyline courses, be sure you're working on your local hard drive (typically your C: drive). Working on a network drive or a USB drive can cause erratic behavior, such as file corruption, an inability to save changes, and loss of resources. See this article for more information.
Once a file has become corrupt, there is not a way to reverse it. I took a look at your file and tried to also do an import into a new file without any luck as there wasn't anything in the original. If you're still having difficulty with your Storyline files after following the above please feel free to let us know. As Mark mentioned, you can always connect with our Support team here as well.
I didn't pay attention to what was there, honestly.
Just now I downloaded again and imported the download into a new slide. All I see now is one scene named Question Bank 1. And THIS time, after I import, all I have is a blank scene.
Thanks Mark and Becky for trying to help with Susan's file, and since it seems like there was some additional weirdness that Becky experienced it further leads to the thought of file corruption. :-(
Ok, so my stress management course crashed yet again (3 times total), but this time I had a backup so I don't have to retype everything. Is there a bug or something in this file that you can see that would cause it to crash yet again. I plan on starting completely from scratch with new templates and everything but I don't want to copy a bug into the new version. I have used quizzes in other e-learning classes so I'm not quite sure what the problem is.
I'm not entirely sure if it will help, but given that you were running into an issue we were investigating earlier, it might help to download the latest update.
Articulate Storyline Update 5 is now available. It includes bug fixes, performance improvements, and HTML5 output enhancements. Click here for details:

Hi Susan,
I was going to suggest you import it into a new story, and then I thought I'd just go ahead and do it myself. Hope everything is there!
unfortunetly there were no slides imported. thanks for trying.
I have published this once is there a way to get back the published slides?
Hi Susan,
Try the attached version.
What I had to was take your original version and change the file name from Stress+Management.story to Stress+Management.storytemplate
Then open and import into a new scene. The slides showed up!
Rebecca's version was blank for me as well. I'm not sure what caused the original problem. Maybe having the + in the filename was the culprit.
Let me know if it works.
Here's the .story file incase the .zip above doesn't open. I've added a results slide at the end.

Hi Susan,
I'm sorry to hear that your file has been lost. File corruption or loss of resources can be caused by any number of things, but to troubleshoot it I'd suggest to start by conducting a repair of Storyline and the supporting Windows software.

Hi Susan,
I just saw your post in this other thread, and now see that you were experiencing a known issue with question banks. It'll be fixed in the next software update for Storyline. In the meantime, you can correct it by importing all your slides into a new story file.
hunh. that's really odd, because when I imported, the slides were all there! Weird!
Rebecca.
Did you see multiple scenes and a 80+ slides?

Like I said, Weird!
Hi Rebecca,
I think all we we're able to extract was what was left after Susans' crash.
It was worth trying though.

Thanks, I have downloaded the update and hopefully will have no more problems.
Hi Susan,
I hope that's the case, too :)
If you do have any other trouble, though, please just let us know.
Thanks!
