Lost my Correct and Incorrect Banners in Quiz Review
Nov 06, 2017
I imported a quiz into Storyline 360 from Quiz Maker and it works great, but when the trainee reviews the quiz after the trainee finishes it, the quiz won't display the correct answer with the usual red or green bar at the bottom. It will show the trainee answer, right or wrong. I want to have it show the green and red bar like it used to, labeled correct or incorrect. And if is is incorrect, it shows the correct answer. It used to do this. Also tried adding a trigger but no luck. Please see screen grabs. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here. Please note I'm talking about the quiz AFTER it has been taken and is in review. Not after each individual question has been answered with the standard gray box that boxes up Correct or Incorrect. I hope that makes sense.

Hi there, Dan. I see what you're saying. First, you shouldn't have to add that trigger on the question slide timeline. That function should be handled by the "review quiz" button which triggers from the results slide.
If you'd like to share your .story file, we can take a look, too.
Please take a look at this attached file. I'm not sure what is different between slide 1 and slide 2 that allows it to show on one but not on 2.
I would argue that if you make a quiz in quizmaker and import it into storyline, you lose the correct and incorrect banners at the bottom of the slides when in review. Not sure how to get them back.
If this helps any, attached is the quizmaker file I imported into storyline. When I run it in Quizmaker, the banners show up alright. Not sure what Storyline takes out or disables on the import that makes these stop showing.
This is frustrating, as I have to rebuild close to 100 individual questions in storyline rather than just import the older quizmaker files.
Hi there, Dan. It is frustrating - this behavior is not happening for me on a new Quizmaker file that I import into Storyline, but it does happen with yours.
I've tried a few different tricks, like replacing the results slide in both QM and SL, but to no avail. I'm going to share this with my team to see if we can figure out a way to get the review layers to show. Even feedback that I placed in the review layer on the question slide is not displayed, so that's telling me that the review layer is just not appearing at all.
I'm going to share your files with my team so that we can try to avoid rebuilding 100 question slides if at all possible.
Thanks Crystal, I appreciate your time as well as your staff's input. Let me know.
Dan - a temporary workaround I just discovered:
The question bank draw reinstated the review layer functionality. I'm still going to explore why the original import of your QM file is not functioning properly, but hopefully this will get you a bit further!
You can download the modified example .story file here.
That worked!!! Thanks for taking the time to look into this!
Crystal, this just happened to me, too. Is this a glitch?
Hi Debra,
We do have an issue reported for this behavior. I'd advise trying the solution that Crystal shared above in the meantime and this thread is attached to the report so that we can update you here.
This is happening to me today. The correct/incorrect banner appears on some of the questions in review but not on others. Is this something that is being fixed? Is there a better work around?
Hi there Jan!
Sorry to hear you're hitting a roadblock. Can I get more details about your project?
Hi all,
unfortunately, this happened to me, too :(
Storyline360 PPT-Import (with quiz-slides) or PPT first and then QM-files - no difference (published and preview).
Sorry you ran into this too, Joern! Our team is still looking into this problem, and we'll keep you posted on any new developments.
In the meantime, did you try the workaround Crystal mentioned earlier in this discussion?
Hi Alyssa,
with Crystals workaround it isn't possible to set the custom player features for each question (Seekerbar, Menu, etc) or (in another case) to show the questions in the menu :-(
There is no way to set player features for a draw of a question bank.
Correction: It is possible to set the features!
Slide view of the draw -> Option "Click to view the question bank"
Jörn
Yay 🎉
Glad you were able to find it Jörn and I appreciate you chiming back in with an update 😁
Hey everyone!
We promised to keep you updated, and I'm happy to share that we just released Update 20 for Storyline 360–click here to read all about it!
Remember when Review mode didn't show correct/incorrect responses after importing a Quizmaker file to Storyline? Well, that's now fixed!
Here’s how you can update Storyline 360 to take advantage of everything the latest release has to offer. 😁
Same happened for me. I have two different quiz files and their behaivour different. One Works properly when imported into SL but other doesn't. Files are attached. quiz.quiz working properly but other doesn't.
I'm happy to investigate this with you, Oguz!
First, what version of Storyline are you using? Also, what version of Quizmaker did you use to create those quiz files?
Finally, tell me more about how the quizzes aren't working properly. Are you missing the Correct/Incorrect feedback in quiz review?
I'm having a similar issue. The text on the action button for all feedback layers for all quiz questions is now missing. Adding it to the quiz master does not fix it, It can be fixed manually one question, one layer at a time, but I have over 280 quiz questions that would need to be fixed.
Very sorry that's happening, Eric. That's a lot of layers to manually adjust, so I'd love to help nail down the culprit and find a custom approach from there!
A few questions to start:
With your permission, I'd like to test your project file in a similar environment to get a clear picture of what's happening and will delete it after troubleshooting. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by using this upload link.
