Making content remain on subsequent slides based on user's selection

Aug 31, 2018

I am creating a process flow in Storyline that generates a checklist for the user based on the path they take through the "course". I ask a series of questions, and based on which button they click it takes them to the next step in the process. It's a fancy flow chart.

I want to make content appear on the slide and remain on all subsequent slides based on the branch the user followed (based on which slide or scene the user exited from). Such as, if they are making a one-time purchase, I want the "Create an OR requisition" to be on their personalized checklist throughout the remainder of the slides -- without having to duplicate that text box on every slide and without having to duplicate whole scenes (one for products and one for services, etc.) when there are only minor differences.

I don't even know what I am asking Storyline to do in Storyline terminology; I don't know where to look for these functions and what they would be called. Help?

Thanks!

Melanie

Melanie, I have attached a story file to show how you could do this. The variable display is placed on a Slide Master so that each slide with that Slide Master applied will display the variable. The first slide uses a different Slide Master without the variable on it.

To answer your bullet questions: No, Yes, Yes. Let me know if you need any more help.
