Mass State Edits

Apr 08, 2013

I have a file where I have about 18 quizzes, each quiz having 4-6 questions, and each question having about 4-5 answers. And each of these have their own states. Well I dislike the Hover state where you get a gray box, so I have been going through and editing the color out one by one. This can take a long time as you can imagine. I was just curious if there was any way to do a mass edit of states.

I've tried to do some research on my own but haven't come up with anything helpful. I'm assuming that I'm stuck doing the editing one by one, but was hoping there was an easier way.

Thank you!

Welcome to E-Learning Heroes, Nancy!

Are you just changing the color of the hover state? If so, you could use the Format Painter to change multiple objects with that state.

For example, say I have 4 answers and the default hover color is blue. I've decided I want to use purple for my hover color. I can either change this in the Design > Colors tool, or I can edit the state for the first answers and use the Format Painter to apply that state color to the other answers.

Here's some information on the Format Painter that may help:

Using the Storyline Clipboard (scroll down to the section on the Format Painter)

You may also want to take a look at a thread I responded to regarding the default highlight colors for quiz answers:

If you're still unable to get this working, can you tell us a little more about how your quiz is set up?

Thanks and welcome again!
