Menu items not showing up

Dec 10, 2013

Hello.  I have 8 sections in a 175 slide new online course. Sections 1-6 are all showing up under "Menu" when I preview them as "Section preview." But for some reason, my last 22 slides in Section 7 that I just created are not showing up in the "menu".  I can see them in Storyline view. I can see the actual slides when  I "Preview the Scene"  or "Preview the Entire Project."  But they are not showing up in the menu.

Ideas??

Thank you

Hello Julia -

I did not know if I was supposed to select "Reset from Story." I did not know what that would do.

There is NOTHING showing up in my "menu" section for Section 7. It is just blank when I click "Preview Scene."

I also just noted that the menu shut off with the last 2 slides remaining in Section 6. So these are missing (Results" slide" and a "Section Summary" slide. )  Is there a limit to the number of slides you can build in a course?

Hi Larry,

The "Reset from Story" button is described as:

If you make some changes to your menu and then decide that you want to reset the menu back to what it was originally (reflecting the original slide titles of your course), you can click the Reset From Story button:

This would also bring back any slide titles into you menu that you may have removed.

I haven't heard of a limit to the number of slides within one course, but out of curiosity, how many slides are we talking about?  Also, as a reminder you'll want to make sure that you're following these guidelines to prevent unusual behavior in Storyline.  Have you tried importing it into a new Storyline file to see if that resolved the menu?

When you mention the menu shut off, do you mean that the section for the menu is no longer visible on those slides or that the titles are just not included anymore? If it's the first one you'll want to check the individual slide properties to see that the menu is enabled for those slides.  If it's the latter, I suspect we'll need to take a look at it to see what is happening. It's likely to large to load the .story file here in the forums, so please send it along here.

Hi Larry,

Thanks for submitting the case. I see your screen recording, but I don't see your .story file attached, and within your Screen recording I don't see anything listed in the menu so it's difficulty to diagnose from that alone. Can you include that as well? If you upload it here that will be connected to your case.

I'll follow along in your case as well.
