The customizations available for the built in Storyline menu are detailed here. If you're looking to do more than is listed there, you may want to look at using the Storyline SDK or creating a custom menu on a slide.
Thank you Ashley. As usual you come through. While this is not what I'd hoped I could do, it is what si figured was possible. "Fraid my Flash skills are a bit rusty for the SDK, but I might look at that more closely.
