I noticed that this setting should work from the features listed page but, it does not allow for the user to click and move to previous pages that have been visited. Is this a Articulate Storyline bug?
Are you viewing the HTML5 output? The menu itself works in HTML5, but not the locked or restricted navigation as you'll see a bit further down in this comparison chart.
The link to view is set to story.html and when viewed the course launches in the Articulate storyline app. So shouldn't the ability to navigate to previous pages be available in the Articulate Storyline app?
Ok thanks Jenn- I missed the part where you were using the app. The restricted navigation should would within the mobile player, so I'd want to know what version of Storyline you're publishing with (we're on update 5) and that you were using the most recent version (2.15) of the mobile player.
If both of those are up to date, can you share your project file with us so that we can take a look at the behavior? If you'd prefer to share privately please let me know and I can send you directions to share with me directly.
I don't see where Jenn ever submitted her file to us, but I do see around the same time another one of my colleagues reported this as a bug to our QA team. Currently the suggested workaround is to set the menu navigation to free and use the method here to restrict it slide by slide. I'll also add this thread to the report filed with our team so that they're aware it's impacting another user.
I see that this issue is still with our QA team in relation to Storyline 1. I don't see this issue reported in regards to Storyline 2, so if you're seeing some odd behavior there we'd like to take a look at your .story file.
I don't have a timeframe to share in regards to fixes within Storyline 1, but as I mentioned it doesn't exist in Storyline 2, so if that's an option for you, than you may want to look at upgrading.
Storyline 2 will be able to open and upgrade any of your Storyline 1 files, but once you make changes in Storyline 2 you won't be able to update within Storyline 1 any longer.

I'm using the latest player. Same issue.

Is this bug fixed?
I have 5 modules with 30 - 40 slides each and the work around looks like a lot of work.

Hi Ashley,
couple of questions here
i am on storyline 1 currently. Is there any idea by when this can be fixed?
Or do we have to upgrade to Storyline 2 so that we don't face this issue? some marketing tactics >:)
Will Storyline 2 support the .story files from storyline 1?
