I can think of a few ways to do this. I amended your file the easiest way given the set-up you already had in place using triggers to change the state of the various menu items when the user hovers over them. Hope this helps.
Here are a couple of samples that will allow you to keep the slide in and out function. Just be aware that if you are going to animate these items one at a time, and on hover also, it is going to take a lot of work.

Ryan ist absolutly right. There are several ways. I did a more complicated version but with animations. See attached file.
