As the import function hasn't worked well, I imported the slides of a Powerpoint bit by bit, each time around 20 at a time. Now, this has (as I mistakenly didn't check the 'import into current scene' button) created a lot of scenes, which I'd like to merge to a single one or two.

You can certainly do this and it may be best to work in Story View so that you can visually move the slides where they need to be.
How do you merge the scenes?
