The modern player always scales smoothly to completely fill the learner’s browser on every device and screen size, so there isn't an option to "Lock player at optimal size". With the classic player, you can choose to lock the size, which means it may not fit in every browser window.
We've seen other requests for more color choices beyond Light and Dark, so I'll add your voice to those requests! If new color options are added in the future, we'll let you know. 😁
I also, need to be able to lock the modern player. I'm trying to put together a project with videos that are 1024 wide. In the modern player, they scale up to fill the screen and display way larger than they should - loose resolution.
Happy to help, and thanks for sharing that image! I'd first recommend checking the slide properties for that specific slide to see if the Submit button is checked. If it is:
Does it work properly in Preview mode?
Do you see this same issue in other browsers or just Chrome?
Are you comfortable with sharing your .story file for testing? You can share it publicly here, or privately with me here. I'll delete it when we nail down what's going on!

Definitely seconding the request for locking at optimal size!

Well, please take it as feature request: we need the modern player with "locking at optimal size".
I hear you, Antoine! Thanks for letting us know what you'd like to see.
+1 on this request.
