Missing unicode characters in lmsmanifest.xml
Mar 18, 2015
Hi there
A customer informed me that some of the course titles shown on his LMS contained "?" instead of the Unicode character that we had inserted in the title and in the reporting dialog. I then opened the lmsmanifest.XML and saw:
e.g. "ö" and "é" were replaced by "?"
This seems to be a bug because lmsmanifest.xml is coded as UTF-8 and therefore should allow for these codepoints. It simply is not written correctly by Storyline in my opinion.
For the moment I have fixed the issue by editing the lmsmanifest.xml. I hope that helps my customer out.
Has anyone else made the same experience? What could be the solution for the issue? Editing the XML file? And what is the reason for this behavior?
