Mobile Application

If a Storyline course is published with html5 and mobile apps enabled, does the iPad user have to download the mobile app?

I've tried testing a course on an iPad (I didn't publish), and I can't get beyond the "download the free mobile app" pages.

What if someone doesn't want to download the app and just view in Safari or Chrome?

Hi Linda,

If you publish for HTML5 and the Articulate Mobile Player, Storyline will determine which one they'll viewed as described here.  If you publish for the iPad, they'll be prompted to install the App if they don't already have it. You'll need to publish your course to test it within the iPad - and if you'd like to publish it just to a test site, you can use Tempshare.

Ashley,

I appreciate your taking the time to respond.

I have already reviewed that article; however, it does notdirectly answer my question.

The question is whether users are FORCED to download theArticulate Mobile app to the iPad if the Storyline course is published with the“Use Articulate Mobile Player on iPad” checked.

I tested a course on an iPad that did not have the Mobileapp installed, and it would not let me move beyond download the App screen.

In other words,as an end user, it seems that not downloading the app as not an option.

The article you referenced (nor other info reviewed) does notexplicitly state what happens given this scenario (i.e., a user does not want to download the mobile app, but the course has been published with that option checked).

Do you know?

Thanks very much for any clarity.
