Modern Player - buttons in a fixed place?
Oct 16, 2019
Hi all,
I am using the Modern player, which looks great. However, my client wants to put an arrow on the screen indicating where the next button is.
This is an issue because it seems that in the Modern player, the next and previous buttons move off to the right when you resize your browser window.
In the classic player, the buttons always stayed fixed to the lower right of the course window. This seems to make a lot more sense! Is there any way I can fix the position of them in the modern player?
I am assuming I could probably have the course open in a new, non-resizable window....however I am not sure my client would like that and I just want to find out if there's a way I can fix the position without doing that.
Thanks!

Hi again,
I did search for an existing topic before posting, and did not find anything -- however now that I have posted, I now see some recommended discussions that deal with this issue. It looks like there is not a way to do what I want...I will submit a feature request!
Hi John,
Thanks for popping back in here to share your research, and kudos for submitting a feature request!
The Modern Player was built to be responsive by default to fill any screen regardless of any device it's on, but I see your need for a fixed position. We'll be sure to jump back in here if we make any changes to the current design.
Hey Ren,
Any update on this request? I am having a similar requirement where i want the buttons to be in a fixed place in the modern player.
Hi Aishwarya,
Thanks for checking in! No updates yet, but we're continuing to track requests!
In the meantime, you can use the Classic Player if you need to lock the player size, or the best option you can select for the Modern Player is to Launch the player in a new screen and resize to optimal size.
The learner will still be able to adjust the browser size, but if you'd like to start them in an optimal setting, this may be an option.
I'd like to start using the modern player, but this is a showstopper for me. I've shown it to team members who have complained that they don't even notice the menu/resources and prev/next buttons because they are such a strange location compared to the content.
+1 to Terry bell. I am not using the modern player for the same reason.
