I am a new storyline user. I recorded my audio on the wrong layer, and I want it on the base layer. It doesn't seem I can simple copy and paste. Is this something I can do?
Solved my own problem. You have to copy the object or audio, switch layers, and then paste the object or audio to the slide itself-- not very intuitive for the audio as this isn't something you would paste to the slide itself. I was trying to paste into the timeline of the second layer.
Thanks for asking this question. Could you please give more details on how to get an object from a layer I created to the base layer? Here's what I'm doing now:
1. I select the object I want to remove from an upper layer and Control-X.
2. I select base layer in the Slide Layers window.
3. I hit Control-V. Storyline creates a new duplicate layer containing the duplicated object.
Katie, once you select the base layer you have to click on the main slide window. The object is pasting into what is selected, which based on your description above is the base slide layer in the layers window, not the timeline.
