I have a multiple choice question. I set it for 3 tries and reset to initial state. It is not resetting when you click try again. Please assist. It is not working for any of the questions on my quiz.
Hi Katelin - Are you not allowed to make another selection or were you wanting the previous selection to no longer be selected? If you are not able to retry the question, please share your .story file so that we can take a look. If the latter, that is the built-in behavior.
That does make it difficult to assist Katelin. I'll share a demo file where this functionality is working. Not sure if you can compare yourself to see what may be going on.
Hey Katelin - I'm able to retry your question as expected. I recorded a quick Peek video to demonstrate here. Is this not the behavior that you are seeing?
Gotcha - yes, that's what I mentioned above. That is the default behavior, it doesn't remove the previous selection, but you are able to re-try the question. The attempts are working, you can see this if you add in the next slide as the triggers are trying to do.
the answers won't reset unless you use the triggers I mentioned above and your example is working correctly only giving 3 tries. Perhaps it is because both popups are tagged 'Incorrect' it is confusing
After attempts 1 & 2 - incorrect answers you get this popup
After attempt 3 - incorrect answer you get this popup - to continue to next slide - no more tries
I am constantly amazed at how easy it is to find answers to my Storyline problems in this community support. It was a while ago, but Thank You Wendy for posting the specific triggers above.

Hi Katelin
change the revisit option to 'automatically decide'
That did not fix the issue.
Hi Katelin
Can you share the story file - it will be easier for someone to assist you if they can see exactly how your file is setup.
Just use the 'add attachment' button at the bottom of the post to upload
No-it is propriety information. I can not share the file.
Are you talking about the 'Retry Quiz' button on the result slide or individual quiz slides have 3 attempts.
If the individual quiz slides you can add these triggers to the Try Again layer
Individual slides.
Why does it require so much work for it to reset? That is usually built in....

Not able to retry even when I set it to retry
I see I missed some responses above as well and you are not able to share the file here for us to take a look. Could you share with me privately here?
I am not able to share as it is under NDA

I am attaching an example of the format that I am using. I want it to allow 3 retries, but it is not resetting or limiting the number of retries.

The slide doesn't reset in your video. And we want to limit to 3 attempts.

Got it. Thanks for explaining.
