Multiple Audio Files - Seekbar

Aug 02, 2016

I've got a best practice question for the collective.

I'm building a series of courses, each with a main menu page that sends users off to different sections of the course.  Each menu page contains 3-4 audio files on and I control which audio file plays via triggers/conditions (ie...first visit, one or more sections completed, all sections completed...etc).  Everything works fine from a functional standpoint, but there's an annoying cosmetic side effect.  My client wants the seekbar to be visible on the menu page.  OK, no big deal.  However, the seekbar extends to the length of the longest audio file.  If the selected audio file playing on the page is shorter in length than the longest, then the seekbar continues to fill after the selected audio file ends.

Has anyone else dealt with this issue?  Is there a fix I'm overlooking?  Thanks!

Thanks Ron!  This solution is actually the first configuration I used to create my menu pages.  I created a separate layer for each "state" of the page, then built triggers/conditions logic to show the correct layer.

This solution worked well in that it always correctly displayed the desired layer.  BUT, an odd side-effect was that after the sub-layer's audio would finish playing, clicking the "replay" button on the seekbar would play the base layer's audio...not the sub-layer's audio again.

If I revisit this previous solution, is it possible that I've misconfigured the 'visibility' or 'revisit' settings offered in the slide properties? You mentioned the Allow Seeking = Yes, so maybe that's  a key setting I was missing.
