It looks as if I cannot put multiple hot spots on a master slide... or at least that when I do, each new hotspot takes on the same behavior (like go to slide X) as the other hotspots. Am I misunderstanding something here?
This seems odd. You should be able to add any number of hotspots to a masterslide and change their functionality as required. See a quick example here, with 3 hotspots on the master slide, each of them having a different function.
In response to Pedro, I was using a single layer (the bottom layer if that's what it is called) for the hotspots. It appears to have been, dare I say it, a bug or temporary bug.
After exiting Storyline and relaunching, I could create hotspots that had differing behaviors. I'm left wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this with Storyline.

Orson,
Did you place each of the hot spots in the same layer or different layers within the master?

Hi Orson! Looks like Michael is assisting you here, just let us know if you need anything further.
Thanks Michael!
