Multiple result slides in 1 SCORM file

Greetings ladies and gentlemen,

I have 4 different scenes in my Storyline course. Each scene correspond to a training unit. The course is published in SCORM 1.2 on TalentLMS.

If I create a result slide at the end of each scene and link each result slides to questions within their respective scene, How will each result submission be intepreted in the LMS?

In other words,  is it possible to have multiple result slides in 1 SCORM file? and will each scene have it's own completed progress bar in the LMS?

Good Morning, Michel.

When you publish a project for LMS, you have the opportunity to tell Storyline which of your result slides to use for tracking.  Tracking multiple quizzes in the same course isn't supported.

Having said that, you have two options that may help with your situation:

  1. You can create a result slide whose Calculate results for property is set to Selected Results Slides, which allows you to combine more than one result slide into a single cumulative result.
  2. You may be able to track more than one SCO (shareable content object) in a single course using any of the methods provided in this unsupported article.

I have made a custom end of quiz result slide with all the colors I need.  How do I save it to retrieve it in other Storyline projects.  it seems like I shouldn't have to reinvent the colors and hover buttons, etc.  I can't seem to ask the right question in my searches.

I have multiple result slides in my SCORM and 1 final result slide. I have this final result slide the one that is supposed to report to my LMS.  I have tried setting the final result slide using both the "User must pass each quiz" and "Combine points from each quiz" options.  When I test the file in my LMS, it's not bookmarking.  I complete a couple of chapters with quizzes and then close out of the course.  When I go back in, my LMS thinks I completed an attempt and I need to start a new attempt. I see a failed attempt with a low percentage, since I only took a couple of the quizzes.

I'm not sure what to do now.  I want the chapter result slides to report to the final result slide and have that final result slide be the one that communicates with the LMS, and I need it to bookmark.

Bookmarking works great when I only use 1 result slide.

Hi Clint! Thanks for reaching out. Can you tell me more about what happens when you complete a couple of chapters with quizzes, and then close out of the course?

  • When you reopen the course, does it start on the last slide visited?
  • Are you forced to restart all of the quizzes, including the ones you already took?
  • Did you publish with SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, or something else?

My hunch is you may be running into a suspend data issue. With a bit more detail, I can try and help you resolve it!

Storyline lets you track a course either by the number of slides viewed or by a single quiz (result slide). Tracking both measurements or multiple quiz scores for the same course isn't supported. However, you may be able to track more than one SCO (shareable content object) in a single course using one of the methods in this article.
