Multiple Text Entry in One Slide

Oct 04, 2023

I want to collect multiple text entry responses from learners on one slide and then display their responses (answers) alongside the model answer on a separate layer. How can I do that?

Hello Aubrey,

Happy to help!

Instead of using 'text entry input boxes' for Layer 54, you can simply add text boxes that reference the 'text entry input boxes' found in the base layer of the slide. In the screenshot below, the box that contains the 'textentry10' variable will show the text that the learner entered in the base layer for the 'text entry 1' input box when Layer 54 is shown.

I've attached a demo file so you can test how this change looks like on your project file.

Hi Aubrey,

Yes, surely. It's just a two step process to add variable references in a slide. Here's how:

  1. Add a shape or a text box where the variable reference will be placed (In the Insert tab).
  2. Go to the Insert Tab and click on the Reference function shown here:

Once you preview or publish your slide, the variable reference will be replaced with whatever value the variable has stored. You can check out this article for more details on how to add variable references in a slide:
