Is there a way to mute flashs using player buttons? In studio the volume/mute work fine with the flash but in storyline, it doesn't seem to work at all.
Not sure if this is what you're looking for. I build an example of a mute button (on slide or in the master slide) that will cover global mute for Flash-based publish. This won't work in the AMP or HTML5 but works great in the Flash publish.
The volume control has been working OK for me for inserted Flash files. Are the files you're including, by chance, configured as AS2? It could explain the disconnected control.
Indeed the movie is published as AS2 but the sounds, aren't controlled through AS, they are just put in the timeline, so i don't know how it affect if is AS2 or AS3. In any case, like i mentioned before this volume button of the player works fine with this flash in Articulate Studio but not in Storyline.
Studio currently uses AS2. Storyline's player is AS3. The control structures are different (at a code level) between AS2 and AS3. AS2 and AS3 runtime VM is completely different and while the content might play you won't be able to control one from the other. Since the audio control is code controlled, if it can't see the audio inside of a content container (VM isolation) it won't be able to control that audio volume
You might try to publish that file as AS3 to see if it makes a difference.

One advantage, if you wanted to / needed to mute based on another event (like on the timeline) you control the mute through a trigger.
Thanks Steve, but I need that the mute action to be triggered by the Volume control of the player, not by another flash, hotspot or any other element.

Is to many content and actions already programmed in AS2, so i think i will get back to studio.
Thanks anyways Steve your help was much appreciated.
