My menu wont scroll as i progress in my course

Feb 08, 2017

Hi, Im new to Articulate and I have a quick question.  I have about 35 slides. I have a Menu on the left side. As I advance slides, my menu doesnt scroll down to keep up with where I am at. I can manually scroll down and see the slide I am on selected.  How do I get the Menu slider to autoscroll?

THanks,

Greg

Hey Greg and welcome to E-Learning Heroes! Would you be able to share the project file you are working with? I'm not even sure what Articulate software/version you are utilizing. You've posted in our Articulate Online forum, which is a different product than our development software. I'd love to be able to better assist. You can share right here in the forums via the 'Add Attachment' option in the bottom left of the reply window.

Hey Greg - Thanks for sharing your file and allowing me to take a look. That was not behavior I had witnessed previously and I was able to re-create it in my own test file as well.

I have reported the issue to our QA Team to further investigate.

The issue seems to lie within the HTML5 output, which is all you are probably seeing as this is what the preview shows and you had your publishing options set to with HTML5 first with Flash Fallback.

In the meantime, if you switch your publishing options from HTML5 first with Flash Fallback to Flash with HTML5 fallback - it will work in the Flash output as you expect, but still not in the HTML5 output.

This thread has been attached to the issue so that I can update here when applicable.

Hey Greg,

Good news! We fixed the issue you reported where:

  • When viewing the HTML5 content, the menu does not auto-scroll to keep up with the progression through the course.

Install the latest Storyline 360 update to take advantage of all the recent features and fixes. Here's how.

If the problem happens again, please record a Peek 360 screencast for me, and I'll be happy to help!
