My own characters

Hello all, I am new to Articulate and struggling with knowing whether I can use Articulate to do what I need. I am trying to make some modules for American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) people and we want to have images of AI/AN people doing things like discussing/having conversations. There do not seem to be any AI/AN characters in the library. I wanted to ask if anyone has any workarounds - for example, can I insert my own images (say, an image of two people having a conversation), insert text boxes, and have this work the same way operationally. The features overall are a bit overwhelming, and I wondered if anyone has any insights on this before I dig too deeply. I'm afraid there will be issues down the road where I learn that images don't logistically interact the same way as characters. I appreciate your help!
