Names of variables in trigger list vs creating conditional trigger are different

Nov 18, 2021

I am creating a slide that requires multiple text entries to be correct. I created the entry boxes by copy and pasting some of them because I had the size I wanted. I then renamed them. The new names took a while to show up on the Triggers list on the right of the slide (first picture below) but they finally did.

However, when I try to create a conditional trigger when the user clicks the submit button, the list of variables have different names (see below), which I believe are based on how I originally copy and pasted the data entry boxes.

This wouldn't be a problem if the interaction seemed to work right but even when I line up the old variable names in creating the conditional trigger with the correct boxes, I only ever come up with an incorrect response. I believe this is because the variable names are different in these two places. Does anyone have a solution? I need users to enter all data correctly to receive a correct response.

You seem to have accidentally attached a list of graphic files on your computer, instead of your SL variable lists.

However, I can tell you for future reference that many objects, and especially text entry boxes respond better to duplication than to copy and paste. They present even fewer problems when created from scratch.
