Narration not imported with the PowerPoint

I can't find a solution to this so hoping someone can help me. I created a PowerPoint, and recorded a narration on each slide (so yes the narration is embedded). I set the slide transitions with timings so that the slide show will automatically advance once the narration is ended. It works perfectly in PowerPoint.  When I imported the presentation into Storyline, the audio files didn't appear to be imported and also the timings were eliminated. What am I doing wrong?

I have updated PowerPoint, have the newest version of Storyline, and I am working on a desktop PC where all the files are saved to my hard drive (not on a network, not in separate folders, etc). To clarify, these are narrations I recorded on each slide - not a playlist or background music or anything like that. Everything I read seems to indicate that the narration should have been imported at the same time as the PowerPoint. And I'm using Windows 8, if that makes a difference.
