Need help to overlay audio over multiple slides (need audio to play while auto-advancing video plays)

More than a year ago I found a great hack here to get audio to overlay my whole project (Storyline 2).  The original thread is below.  HOWEVER, with recent Chrome changes, it no longer works!  I can't control what browser people are using when they find my video, but it still works in IE.  Anyone have any fresh ideas for how to make this work in Chrome?  It's an unsupported feature according to Articulate (I also put in a support ticket).
