Need to add audio (.wav) file to a step-by-step screen recording. How do I do this?

It is a Storyline 360 course.

Hi there Patti, I'm happy to help! First, I have a few questions that will help me envision your project more clearly:

  • Have you already recorded the screen recording and inserted the step-by-step slides?
  • Is the audio file pre-recorded, or do you want to record audio in Storyline?
  • Do you have one long audio file, or is it broken into segments?

Thanks, Patti!

From here, you'll want to break the audio file into smaller clips, and insert each clip on the corresponding step-by-step slide. There are two ways you can do that:

  • Use a third party tool to break the audio file into clips, then use Insert >> Audio from file to insert the audio file on the slide.

    OR
  • Use Insert >> Audio from file to insert the long audio file on each slide, then use the Audio Editor to delete all but the clip you need for that slide.

Give it a go, and let me know if you run into any snags along the way!
