New to this discussion so please help!

I posted a question and absolutely nobody has responded to it although most all the subsequent questions posted quickly got multiple responses. I'm sorry if I'm asking the question wrongly but I really need help with this. I'm using Storyline 2. Here's what I had asked earlier today:

Hi:

I want to restrict users from clicking to the next slide until after the audio completes. I set the player menu option to RESTRICTED. Now my Next button isn't working in those few slides that I've actually created a trigger to allow the user to advance to the next slide after the slide reaches cue point 1. Can someone please explain how to Restrict the Menu so the user can't jump ahead AND still use the Next button?

Thank you!

Ken

With the menu set to Restricted, the user can still use the Next button but only AFTER the entire timeline of a slide has ended. So, if you want the Next button to be initially disabled and then become available after a cue point is reached, you need to set the menu navigation to Free and use triggers to change the Next button's state from Disabled to Normal.

When selecting the Restricted option for the menu did you have the Restrict Next/Previous buttons options checked?

This could have been the cause of your issue with the buttons not working.

The restricted setting allows users to only view content that they have already looked at. So basically they can go backwards but not forwards.  I hope this helps a little.
